We are manufacturing slip on pipe flanges that slip over the pipe. These are connected to pipe via fillet weld. The size of counter bore is slightly more than pipe's outer diameter, which ensures insertion of pipe into a flange.
Slip-on Flanges Vs Socket Weld Flanges
The Socket Weld Flange has a bore along with a counter bore dimension. Talking about matching pipes, the diameter is same for the smaller bore and inner dia. At the bore's bottom, a restriction is built that acts like a shoulder for the pipe on which it can rest on. This is very helpful in ensuring regular and uninterrupted flow, when a socket welding flange is used.
